Rafael Hernández Fernández, our friend from Jaen - is one of most crazy people that I know. And most talkative...
He can bring to life any particular thing that comes to his mind. If he feels like having churros not only he will buy it but also make a long conversation with people who make it, ask for presentation and in the end take a group photo. And that's what he did with Juan and Alberto - best churros makers in Cádiz. After explanation about us - Poland, trip, typical things that he wants to show us - we've been invited inside the churros making place, had the presentation about the way of making, explanation about the recipe and finally took a group photo all together.

On the picture you can see (from the left) Julia with one churro, me with a pack of fresh churros of two types, Rafa 'Parlapipas', Alberto and Juan - owners of La churreria de Ana since the fifties. They are making amazingly tasty things only with water, flour, salt and baking soda according to recepie of their grandmother.
Couple of minutes after leaving Juan and Alberto, while walking through the narrow streets of Cadiz, we heard sounds of flamenco music coming from the inside of one building. Rafa made only one gesture with his head like: 'So, guys, do you want flamenco...?' I answered him another with head shake saying 'Sure...'. He knocked on the door, didn't finished sentence asking if we may come and we were inside. ("Amesing!")
That hospitable people were AL SON DE CADI group of young musicians preparing christmas flamenco. They not only let us stay on their rehearsal but also let me record some of their songs which was extremly nice for me according to my traditional-music-interests. That was something else than traditional flamenco but it doesn´t matter. Four girls and six guys, including two guitar players and one cajon player, were making so good expressive, energetic music that we couldn't believe that we were there. Privat christmas-flamenco show...
Cheers to AL SON DE CADI!
Cheers to AL SON DE CADI!
That's not everything. In the evening we went to see flamenco again, more traditional this time. One wonderful guitar player Carlos Rey and just as good singer, Joaquin ´Niño de sola´.
Niño made very good job singing also without the microphone when people asked. Whole restaurante was srceaming "OLÉ!", ""GUAPO!". You would never say that a guy so young as Niño can make these things with his voice. I saw that kind of concert for a first time in my life and I appreciate that experience a lot. "Amasing!" as Rafa would say.
